Center for Clinical Excellence 12 hours RN RCP
Nellcor and Puritan Bennett offer accredited online continuing education courses for nurses and respiratory care practitioners. These educational programs focus on cardiopulmonary physiology and disease, ventilator management strategies and relevant technology. The self-paced courses includeconvenient post-testing and a printable certificate upon course completion. NOTE: Perioperative Patient Temperature not approved by AARC.
AARC many to choose from RCP
There are a couple of things to consider before we classify these as free CEU’s. First, in order to get freeCEU’s directly from AARC education you have to be a member which is not free to join. CEU come in a variety of formats such as web casts. Secondly, these web casts are only good for free CEU’s to AARC members for viewing the LIVE feed. “Live” is the key word as it means you have to be present during the scheduled showing. Once the show is no longer live, any replays of their archived broadcasts is going to cost $15.00. There is quite an impressive line up of upcoming broadcasts with multiple times posted and archived material if you are so inclined to pay.
American Medical Association (AMA) several hours RN RCP ALL
These are ACCME accredited courses and free. Most likely updated periodically on different subject matters. You can knock out a bunch of CEU’s (CME’s) with a little time and effort (Osteoporosis worth 18 and Pain Management brings 12). Site is a little difficult to navigate but worth the effort. Also check out their downloadable PDF section with even more free CEU’s (CME’s).
Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) 55 hours RN RCP ALL
A whopping 55 lectures available with one CME credit each. Geriatric Grand Rounds. Many varied subjects, many respiratory related. The elderly make up a large portion of our patient population and will only increase in numbers over the next few years as the baby boomers come of age. Get ready.
MedScape from webMD over 250 courses available RN RCP ALL
More than 250 courses available in any field and specialty, updated regularly ensuring timely and relevant information. Also includes a Nurse CE center. Medscape claims to have awarded more online continuing education credits than any other site.

A newer site with relevance to RRT and RN. Easy to navigate, most lessons (there are many) are 7 CEU’s each. Definitely worth checking out. The sections are: Allergists, Cardiologists, Cardiopulmonary and Critical Care, Hospitalists, Nephologists, Primary Care Physicians and Special Reports.
